YTA Worker  Maternity Leave Contract July 1, 2017 – July 1, 2018

Enviros is a charitable, non-profit community committed to enhancing the quality of family life in Alberta.  We engage children, youth, adults and families in experientially based opportunities so they learn and develop skills that foster independence.  Enviros addresses a broad range of societal needs ranging from programs for young offenders; family support services, emergency foster care, and helping young adults become successfully independent.  Enviros opens minds as well as doors, promoting social responsibility through personal action, interaction and accountability.

Our Youth Transitions to Adulthood (YTA) program acts as a transitional, life skill development program for youth who have had long-term involvement with Children and Family Services and for those with exceptional circumstances requiring intervention.  This program helps youth make the most of the resources available within the community and themselves, and to teach them skills for successful transition into adulthood.  Enviros assists with transitions of non-complex and complex youth who have the potential for independence and success in areas such as education, employment and life-long significant relationships.

As a full time YTA Worker you will have experience working with youth and families, extensive knowledge of community resources, and an understanding of the Child and Family Services system. This person will be able to work well independently and within a team setting, have excellent time management skills and the ability to manage client and documentation work loads. This position requires good organizational skills.  A diploma or degree in the Human Services field is required.

Utilizing an experiential and strength based approach, the YTA Worker will assess individual needs of the youth; enhance awareness of community resources; provide life skills training to prepare for independence; teach problem-solving while assisting to develop healthy relationships and enhancing capacities.

Applicants require current standard First Aid and CPR Certification and current clear Alberta Intervention and Criminal Record including vulnerable sector checks. Contract will run approximately July 1, 2017 – July 1 2018.
