Enviros Enviros Base Camp is an intensive adventure based wilderness program for youth aged 12-17 and their families. The program is for youth with substance abuse treatment issues that require residential support in an isolated environment. The program is family centered, with a commitment to change being made by the family unit. Base Camp provides a safe and structured environment while striking a balance between addiction treatment, traditional school, outdoor education and community experiences to support youth and families in making change. Through all these learning experiences and challenges, trust, respect and lasting relationships are created.
Traditional and Experiential Programming
Individualized academic programming enables youth to continue receiving a "traditional education", while experiential programming teaches the fundamentals of interpersonal behavior and social responsibility. The function of the camp depends on the individual's cooperation and contribution.
Wilderness Programming
Experiential programming is a key aspect of Enviros Base Camp's philosophy. Perseverance, cooperation, leadership, self-reliance, and trust are the products of success. Overcoming fear, apathy and personal differences to achieve a common goal enhances respect for others.
Counselling
Family, individual and group therapy, addiction counseling, and consistent acknowledgment of competencies are tools used at Base Camp to support and build upon strengths.
