The Program – Triveri House

Triveri House is a Place Based Supportive Housing program for young people (18-29) experiencing chronic and episodic homelessness. Adhering to a Harm Reduction model, the program works with the young adults to create stability and overall wellbeing in their lives through an intensive case management model (ICM).

The Position – Support Worker

The support worker will provide the welcoming services for tenants ensuring the health and wellness and safety needs are met for tenants residing in Triveri House. The support workers are always on-site and will be the first contact for all individuals entering the facility. Support workers will act as “point workers” supporting Case Management staff with goal planning for residents of Triveri House.

This team of workers will have three main roles within the program: security of the building, medical first responders and facility management. Safety protocols and measures will be monitored and carried out by all individuals on the Triveri House team. This will include monitoring video, monitoring entrances and exits from the building, being “on the floor” in public spaces while on shift and responding to emergency situations which may arise.

The support worker will work with Triveri House residents to ensure their daily needs are met including laundry, meal prep, medication assistance, internal community programming, upkeep and cleanliness of resident units, crisis management, debriefing, and general maintenance and cleaning tasks pertaining to the program schedule. The support worker will be accountable to complete building walkthroughs, shift change notes with the assistance of both case managers and leadership staff when required.

Candidates will have experience working with youth and young adults and enjoy working with the populations residing in this residence. Individuals with trainings in crisis intervention and de- escalation are considered an asset.

COVID – We take all necessary precautions when running our program such as social distancing, wearing masks while inside, regular sanitization of hands and surfaces. PPE will be provided. As we frequently access public spaces, the ideal candidate will be required to follow the requirements of the restriction exemption program.

For Consideration Applicants Will Need to Demonstrate the Following 

  • A degree or diploma in related field of study
  • The ideal candidate would have 3 – 5 years of experience in working with youth and young adults who may be at risk of facing homelessness
  • Individuals who have experience working within the Calgary Homeless Foundation network of service providers may be an
  • A current criminal record check including vulnerable sector (completed within the last 6 months)
  • A current Alberta Intervention Record check (completed within the last 12 months)
  • A current First Aid and CPR/AED ‘C’ certificate
  • A Class 4 or 5 Driver’s License (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted)
