The Program – Passages
The program is one of Enviros “Live in” programs serving six young people between the ages of 13–17 who are under the care of Children’s Services. Individuals residing in this program may have been affected by trauma, domestic abuse or family breakdown. Some may have cognitive delays or presenting behavioral concerns.
The Position(s) – Youth and Family Support Worker
The Youth and Family Support Worker provides supervision and support to young people residing in the program and is a member of the team ensuring treatment plans are implemented. Candidates will be expected to assume key worker responsibilities and advocate for the youth. This position will involve working weekends, days or evening shifts and the ideal candidate will have interest in and training in recreation and outdoor recreation activities and a willingness to participate in recreation programs. All workers are expected to assist with daily household chores and routines and may be asked to take the lead in certain areas of responsibility. Youth and Family Support Workers must have good working knowledge of computer programs and skilled with basic office applications.
There are three position currently available:
- 1 full-time permanent role working 40 hours a week, Sunday to Thursday, day/evening shifts. Shift rotation includes 2 weeks of days (7AM to 3PM), then 2 weeks of evenings (3PM to 11PM).
- 2 full-time permanent roles working 40 hours a week, Tuesday to Saturday, day/evening shifts. Shift rotation includes 2 weeks of days (7AM to 3PM), then 2 weeks of evenings (3PM to 11PM).

Education and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should have minimally a degree/diploma in the Human Service field, experience with youth in a group living environment; be aware of trauma informed practices, and be professional, reliable and able to work independently.
Other Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR C
- Current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Designation and Child Intervention Record Check
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted).
