The Program – Passages

The Passages Program is a six-bed Live-In Program for youth ages 13 to 17 years who have status with Children’s Services. Passages offer a recreation, life skills and relationship-based program, with an average stay of 6-12 months. The intention of the youth’s stay is to collaborate with the youth and their support to identify strengths and areas of growth where resourcing and skill development can be done with the aim of supporting the youth’s successful transition back to their family (parental or kinship setting) wherever possible, or into a less intrusive placement where indicated by the case plan.

The programming at Passages focuses on cultivating each youth’s sense of self-worth and helps each youth identify, establish, and maintain healthy relationships with their support to allow for successful and stable transitions. The Passages Program provides youth with a safe and nurturing environment; individualized care plans; educational and recreational activities; and the development of daily routines. The development of strong positive relationships is a key component of the overall success of the Passages Program.
