Shunda Creek Recovery Centre Application Form

The Shunda Creek Addiction Recovery Centre is a 12 week, 18 bed wilderness based addiction recovery program for 18-24 year old men.  The program addresses substance abuse issues that require in-program recovery and support in an isolated environment.  Shunda Creek supports family involvement and strikes a balance between addiction recovery, building on family strengths, post recovery employment support, outdoor education, and community experiences. The aim is to support young men and their families in creating lasting, positive change. As an adult this is your journey; you must be the one to consent to participate no matter what led you here.  

Admission Criteria

  • Must be an Alberta resident
  • Males ages 18-24 years
  • Remain alcohol and drug free for a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) prior to the date of admission
  • Remain tobacco/vape free throughout the duration of the program
  • Medically stable as deemed by a physician
  • Able to make an informed decision about participation
  • Able to participate in a group environment
